Community engagement can amplify the impact of the Community-led Energy Action Plan in two main ways.
Firstly, community engagement could be used to test the findings the group discuss in the action planning workshop. It is desirable to test the findings with the wider community to validate them and ensure they are correct. One way of doing this is to carry out a listening campaign which could stress test the challenges and solutions identified by the group before the production of the Community-led Energy Action Plan.
Secondly, community engagement could be used following the development of the Community-led Energy Action Plan. This can enable the neighbourhood group to talk about and share their findings and solutions and could help to identify other local people who may be interested in progressing the community-led and -owned actions recommended in the action plan. Using a launch or celebration event is one way to do this.
